Horses have inspired many video games. Most young girls dream of owning a horse farm. Horse-breeding games simulate breeding horses and permit girls to experience the joys of horses without their parents shelling out thousands of dollars. Horse-breeding games teach young girls about caring, managing, raising and training young equines.

Howrse is an online horse breeding game. To play, you must register. During the registration process, the player chooses between horse and pony, the sex, color, breed and name of the horse. In the next step, you select a username and password. The games start with the newly born foal, which the player designed in the sign up process. A little monkey directs the player on quests to feed, water and age the horse. As the horse grows, the player makes decisions about the horse’s care, such as how much to feed and where to board the horse. When the horse reaches 2 years old, the player trains the horse and prepares it for competitions in either the Western or English variety. As the game progresses, the player can upgrade her horse’s skills by buying items in the shop or black market. When the horse ages enough, the player can breed her horse and enlarge her stables. The game and its graphics are suitable for both adults and children.
